Albany, Ny Dj – How To Pick The Perfect Dj For Your Wedding Or Party
As a long time Albany NY DJ I believe I’m uniquely qualified to help you hire the perfect DJ for your next event.
Here are the most important points in hiring a great DJ for a wedding or party:
1) How long has your Albany NY DJ been in business? Experience is the key ingredient you are paying for — otherwise you could just get your Uncle Charlie to play your iPod through a set of speakers. Your DJ should have a track record of successful business operation over a period of years — not months or weeks.
2) Can your DJ offer references from satisfied clients who have hired an him?
3) Is your Albany NY DJ a member of the National Association of Mobile Entertainers or other trade association ensuring he or she is competent, reliable and honest?
4) Does your DJ carry adequate liability insurance? Is your Albany NY DJ able to supply a Certificate of Insurance guaranteeing that you and your guests are adequately protected in the event of an accident or other unfortunate event?
5) Does your DJ use CD’s, which offer the highest quality sound — or does your Albany NY DJ use compressed MP3’s which, although convenient to carry, result in poorer quality music?
6) Does your DJ show up in person or are you choosing a company who sells you on hiring them without guaranteeing you’ll get the Albany NY DJ you want? Remember, employees can quit or get fired — hiring a DJ in business for him or herself will insure you get what you paid for.
7) Can your DJ provide other services besides music? Can your Albany NY DJ sing or play a musical instrument to entertain during cocktails or dinner? Can he or she provide complete entertainment services such as a strolling magician or magic show, ventriloquism comedy show, live classical guitar, karaoke, dance floor lighting and perhaps even professional photographic services?
How do you feel about your DJ? Your wedding or special event is too important to use someone you don’t feel comfortable with right from the beginning. Your Albany NY DJ will be a key component of hosting a successful event. Be sure you’re hiring someone you feel you can work with effectively.
9) Don’t hire an Albany NY DJ on price alone. DJ’s are NOT all the same. Remember, you get what you pay for and to get a performer with experience and talent who is reliable and personable and has the ability to act as Master of Ceremonies for your event requires someone who is worth their fee.
Following the above points will help you hire a great Albany NY DJ for YOUR next event. Best wishes and good luck hosting your next event!

A wedding DJ can really make your special event the best while impressing your guests. But, choosing the right wedding DJ can be quite challenging because if the requirements for the perfect wedding DJ are not met your special occasion cannot succeed. Below is a checklist that should be kept in mind before hiring a wedding DJ:
* You should ask your wedding DJ to provide local references. For instance, if you live in New York and wish to organize a successful wedding party, then you should go for the BEST New York DJ. The key to a professional wedding DJ is word-of-mouth advertising and repeat business. Ask for phone numbers or email addresses of their past customers and have questions prepared to ask them about their experiences with that New York DJ. You can also search for New York DJs on the internet. This way you will find more opportunities and will save a lot of money and time.
* Off course you will hate to worry about the microphone or speakers dying or screeching in the middle of your reception. So, make sure your wedding DJ have made an investment in the latest equipment and having all professional equipment, no home speakers and home-built lights.
* You will need music for every movement including the interlude, prelude music, the processional, the recessional, the first dance, the last dance, mother/son dance, cake cutting, bouquet toss, dance music etc. So, your New York DJ’s music library should be on digital compact disc and should have everything from oldies, disco, big band, rock, country. Plus, they should also buy any of your special songs that you may want to play on your special day.
* You should find a wedding DJ who will play the right music and entertain everyone at the same time. Be sure that your wedding DJ is experienced and offer appropriate music at appropriate times. Dinner music should be played during the meal and dance or upbeat music after.
* Do NOT go for lower prices. Instead, research and compare the experience, prices, and discounts and then choose the right wedding DJ. Wedding Djs and Party Djs in Ireland
Everybody wants to be a DJ, but DJ jobs are very different from our day to day jobs. And even if sometimes you listen to your stereo and a party DJ is playing or go to a wedding and see a wedding DJ you say…”hey, I can do that!”, you might not know the stress and work required to be a successful and professional wedding DJ or party DJ.
Try to remember the wedding receptions you attended and think of the one where you had the most fun and you felt great. Now try to remember the wedding you disliked the most and then compare the DJs at the first and second. You have to admit that at the first one the wedding DJ kept you entertained you were dancing and having a ball, as opposed to the other one where you were bored and ready to leave. Most people remember a great wedding from the fun they had there that is whey it is very important to hire a good professional wedding DJ at your wedding reception.
If you think that you want to get married in the immediate future you should think really hard what wedding DJ you want to book. You can consider Ireland wedding DJs because they have many years of experience exclusively for weddings and even if good DJs have to be booked in advanced for 1 year ore more, Ireland wedding DJs can be booked 6 months in advanced but if needed your needs can be satisfied at very short notice. Many of your guests will have song requests for the music the wedding DJ is playing but often there are people that have unusual requests, songs that are not very welcomed at a wedding in this case if you booked a good wedding DJ he will explain the reason and ask for an alternative song the guests might like. Another problem you might find is the most common, money problem. Discuss all the fees at the beginning and make sure that the wedding DJ does not have hidden fees. And last but not least a good wedding DJ in Ireland must have professional DJ equipment because of course you want excelle
nt sound quality for the money you pay and any good wedding DJ knows that.
Of course there are other kinds of DJs not only for weddings. You might want to through a party one time and you are not sure what professional party DJ to get. Of course you want you and your guests to have fun and remember the party as the best party they have been to. A professional party DJ knows how to please the crowds, to make everyone at a certain party feel free and amused and feel better about themselves. Now it depends on the location of your party to choose the party DJ and of course on the amount of money you want to spend. You can have a house party and get a small party DJ that knows how to get the party started or you might want to have a big club party in witch case you definitely want to get a big time party DJ or Club DJ that can make you and your friend rock all night long.
So in summary make sure that when you hire a DJ using the golden pages or even search on the internet for Ireland party DJs and wedding DJs that they will provide a professional DJ service that suits you party or wedding budget!

How to Hire a Wedding Dj
Many brides struggle with trying to find the perfect entertainment for their big day. This is a very important decision, because the entertainment can make or break the entire evening. So how do you hire a wedding DJ? I have laid out 7 helpful tips below that will help you select the right company for your special day.
1.) Friends don’t let friends DJ their wedding
Before we get into pricing, I just wanted to let everybody know that friends do not let their friends DJ their wedding. Instead, you should have your friend attend the wedding as a guest or even in the bridal party. Just because they are your friend does not mean that you have to let them DJ your wedding. They may give you a killer deal on the DJ package, but are they really professional DJ material? I am sure there are many people who know pro wedding DJs out there that would be the perfect match for your wedding. However, I have heard the stories many times where brides wished they would have spent $300.00 more instead of having their cousins friend ruin the reception with blowup guitars, rap, and cheesy announcements. A professional wedding DJ company will go over all the details with you ahead of time, so that there are no surprises.
2.) See Your DJ in Action
Honestly, most wedding DJ companies that you might consider hiring will not allow you to attend a private function such as a wedding reception. When you really think about it, would like to have some guest come uninvited to your wedding just to get free drinks and eat your appetizers? A reputable company will focus all their attention on the client for that day instead of the next one being booked. To fix this problem online video demos come in handy. You can see event highlights of your DJ in action, and get a feel for how they will coordinate your wedding day while working with your vendors.
3.) Type of DJ/Personality
This will make or break the DJ company that you hire for your wedding. No two DJs are the same and with that said not every DJ is created equally. Some DJs will do any and every type of event, while others specialize in weddings. When you first talk to the DJ over the phone, get a feel for how they present themselves during the conversation. Are they energetic? Are they passionate? This is what you can expect from them on your wedding day. Some DJs spend 30 seconds on the phone while others take the time to understand what you are looking for so they meet your expectations. When you hire a wedding DJ you are also hiring the master of ceremonies. They will be your spokesperson for the evening representing both of your families. It is a wise idea to go with a company that has good chemistry with you and your fiancé.
4.) What Does Price Really Mean
Every couple wants their wedding day to be perfect, and they also want to save as much money as possible. So what does price really mean when hiring a wedding DJ? I am sure you have heard the old saying you get what you pay for, but quality entertainment does not cost it pays. If you skimp a couple of hundred dollars on the entertainment your guests might not stay long enough to get your moneys worth from the hall, your photographer might not take above average photos, and that late night snack tray might go to waste as well. When guests look back on your wedding day 10, 15, even 20 years from now, do you know what they will remember… if they had fun or not!
So we know that going with the cheapest might cost you the most stress, but the most expensive does not mean the best either. Sometimes you are charged for setup and teardown, online planning, travel, and the list goes on. It is best to work with a company that can compromise with your budget. A company that does not have any hidden costs and gives you the most bang for your buck This typical price range will usually fall between $795-$1295. Sometimes pricing can go over this range if you factor in custom options including Wall Accent Lighting, custom name monogram, and remote sound.
5.) References References References!
By far one of the most important areas to spend your time when figuring out how to hire a wedding DJ is feedback and testimonials. References should be recent, from within the past 6-12 months, and you should be given an adequate amount of them for the type of event you are considering (EX. you should not be given a list of corporate referrals for a wedding reception they are completely different). If you are given a list of over 15 satisfaction surveys, contact 3 or 4 random brides and really listen to what they say. Ask them why they hired the DJ company, how the wedding DJ did at their wedding, and their overall impression. Any wedding DJ that is serious about your business will have nothing to hide and will provide references upon request.
6.) Talk with Several Companies
So you talked with one wedding DJ company now guess what? Talk with another and another. The best piece of advice is to consult with several wedding DJs before making a decision on which one to hire. This will also give you a better understand of what you are looking for immediately! You will be surprised at the way some entertainers carry themselves. Just imagine how they will handle your ONE wedding! Keep notes of all conversations and prices quoted for your wedding. Narrow your selection down to 2 or 3 ideal companies and make your decision from there.
7.) What about the contract and payments
Finally after you have your sights on a particular wedding DJ, enforce what you want with a contract. All the stipulations should be discussed before hand and all the important details should be included (location, date, time, # of guests, names, and phone number). When going over the contract, also talk about how are payments made. Most wedding DJ companies accept a 50% retainer at the time the contract is signed to reserve your date. Usually the outstanding balance is due the night off. Majority of the time, payments can be made in advance if you are more comfortable with that. Will your DJ accept a personal check, if so who is it made out to? Small things like this will tell you how flexible a wedding DJ is, (this is a biggie when it comes to weddings). At most weddings the timeline will jump around plus or minus 10-15 minutes. Your wedding DJ will have to adjust to these changes without hesitation.
How do You Hire the Right Wedding DJ
This all depends on how you take the advice from this article. Every bride and groom is different and this means that they are looking for different qualities in a wedding DJ. The best approach to take when interviewing wedding DJs is to get a vibe of how they view you as a person and a client. Wedding receptions should not be done in a cookie cutter fashion. When weddings are personalized to what the bride and groom want, then this means that they hired the best wedding DJ available.

Albany Ny Dj – Thoughts About Choosing A Albany, Ny Dj Or Wedding Band
You’ve been planning your wedding and now it’s time to make a decision on music. Typically there are two choices, a wedding band or a DJ. For years I’ve been asked the question, “which is better”. The answer is that it depends on a number of events and factors surrounding your wedding and reception. Remember, having the right music at your reception is absolutely crucial to setting the mood and providing a great time for you and your guests.
I’m an Albany NY DJ with extensive experience in providing the music at weddings both as a DJ and as a member of a live band. There is nothing like the energy that a live band can create when everything is right… the problem is that it can be very difficult to find (and afford) a band that will give you that kind of performance.
One of the big issues to look at is cost. Many times a good band will cost a minimum of $2,000 and often as high as $10,000. You can find a great DJ generally under $1,000. While music does make the reception, I do understand that there is a limit on how much most of us can spend. My advice, unless you have a limitless budget, is to spend a little extra to get a top-notch DJ and let them create the atmosphere you’re looking for. You’ll save money and still get someone who will make your reception sizzle!
Other variables to look at when making your decision are song selection and volume. Most bands are really great at one type of music. Ask them to play another style half-way through your reception and they may be in trouble. Most DJ’s have a wide variety of music and experienced DJ’s can easily move from one genre to another without missing a beat.
Some bands have only one volume… loud! In a small venue this could overpower the room. Ask them to turn down the volume and it may effect the way they play. On the other hand, with the slight turn of a knob the DJ can adjust the volume to the right level within seconds.
No matter what your decision, the key is to be comfortable with the DJ or band that will be performing at your wedding. Talk to them well in advance. Let them know any special requests. Give them an indication of who and how many will be attending. Ask the DJ or band leader their opinion if you’re unsure about a music or sound issue… remember, they’re the experts.
There is a good selection of Albany NY DJ’s and Bands to choose from. Talk, check references, ask questions and then relax and look forward to your big day.
